CARRELS Аннотация: This uncritical table of thermodynamic data gives scientists and engineers a comprehensive list of values from the major sources currently available, applicable to naturally occurring common elements and inorganic compounds. The table provides not only a quick reference list of values and sources of values but also gives an idea of the range of values determined for various compounds (i.e., of the degree of controversy over the best value for a given compound). An example of another uncritical summary of thermodynamic data, which has been widely used by scientists working in many fields, is Stability Constants by Sillen and Martel (1964). The table is particularly useful for comparing the entropies or Gibbs energies of reactions, using data from different sources. Even though the Gibbs energies of formation of individual species may differ markedly from author to author, the Gibbs energy of the reaction may be the same if all data are from a single source. Moreover, the perils of indiscriminate selection of values from various sources can be tested by calculating the Gibbs energies of a given reaction, using data chosen at random from the table. The table contains values, where known, of the enthalpy of formation, Gibbs energy of formation, and entropy at 298.15°K and 1 bar pressure. Included are values for common elements, aqueous species, gases, liquids, and minerals and related compounds, as well as many minerals that are not found in critical tables. All of the energy values are expressed in terms of joules or kilojoules. Values reported in the literature in calories were converted to joules during compilation (Conversion factor: 1 calorie = 4.184 joules). If less than or equal to one decimal place was listed in the source, the ori[ lal number of significant figures was retained. When more than one decimal place was listed in the original source, the values were rounded to one decimal place.
