Title: Limnoecology of Lake Baikal: Microbial Loop

Annotation: The 3d lecture of Limnoecology of Lake Baikal course. The concept of microbial loop is introduced, history of its development in modern limnoecology is given. Food pyramids and food webs are discussed. Significant attention is paid to detritus, both POM and DOM, and exudates fate. Up-to-date concept of pelagic nutrient flow is described.
