Annotation: G. I. Kobanova SOME NEW DATA ON MORPHOLOGY AND BIOLOGY OF GYMNODINIUM COERULEUM ANT. (DINOPHYTA) FROM BAIKAL Scientific research Institute of Biology at Irkutsk State University, Irkutsk, Russia Some new morphological features of Baikalian endemic alga Gymnodinium coeruleum Antipova obtained with the light microscopy are described. In addition to ordinary vegetation division of alga into two daughter cells the stage of asexual reproduction with autospores, formed within mother cell and are similar to it, is registered. This way of reproduction leads to significant wid-ening of cells size spectrum. The stages, which can serve as indicators of sexual reproduction are discovered. Some aspects of distribution and taxonomy are discussed.
