Talented students who show excellent results in studies and are active in scientific research are rewarded with grants of the Vernadsky’s Foundation. Vasily Pavlichenko, a regular participant of REC “Baikal” programmes, carries out his research studies in the Laboratory of Problems of Biosystem Adaptation (Scientific Research Institute of Biology at Irkutsk State University) under the leadership of Maxim Timofeev. The main aspect of his research is to assess the effect of different stress factors, in particular pollution, on Baikal invertebrates. This year Vasily Pavlichenko has already been rewarded with a personalized scholarship from the Government of the Russian Federation for his scientific work and excellent studies.
