Interdisciplinary projects offered by representatives of three REC “Baikal” units were discussed at the workshop concerning their participation in the project competition announced by U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) within the framework of Programme “Basic Research and Higher Education” (BRHE). A working group was formed to prepare a preliminary variant of the application which was represented by Andrew Mantsivoda, Chief of Chair of Information Systems, IMEI, Irkutsk State University; Nikolay Budnev, Director of Scientific Research Institute of Applied Physics, Irkutsk State University; Lyubov Izmestyeva, Director of Scientific Research Institute of Biology, Irkutsk State University; A. Vinogradova, Senior Research Scientist, Vinogradov’s Institute of Geochemistry SB RAS; Valery Bychinsky, Dr.; Victor Chepinoga, Chair of Botany and Genetics of Biological-Soil Faculty, Irkutsk State University; and Zhanna Shatilina, Research Scientist of Scientific Research Institute of Biology, Irkutsk State University.
