Delegation of our University headed by Maxim Timofeev, Chief of Laboratory “Problems of Biosystem Adaptation”, Scientific-Research Biology Institute at Irkutsk State University, was invited to the First Youth Innovation Convention (Moscow). Young specialists, who had achieved promising results in science and high-tech spheres of economy, were invited to take part in this event. The Convention was aimed at stimulation of innovation scientific activity and formation of the Russian pool of young scientists able to breathe new life into the national science. This All-Russian Convent was held by Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy and by Federal Agency for Youth Affairs under the auspice of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
Maxim Timofeev was invited by International Publishing House “Elsevier Sciences” to take part in a master-class “Career Strategies in International Scientific Community”. Moreover, together with other 12 candidates he was nominated for National Prize – “Zvorykin Prize” in the sphere of innovation in nomination “International recognition”.
Our delegation presented a talk on “History of Success or History of Survival … (Experience of Independent Research Group Existence in Russia) within the framework of the Convention BarCamp. This presentation was devoted to the evolution of scientific laboratory “Problems of Biosystem Adaptation” created within the format of private-state partnership according to the agreement on cooperation between Irkutsk State University and non-governmental Baikal Research Center. The participants showed interest to this presentation: some proposals on cooperation were offered.
At the end of the Convention, Maxim Timofeev, as one of the nominees for Zvorykin Prize, took part in the meeting with the Head of Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Vasily Yakemenko. After the meeting, they met privately discussing experience on organization of private-state scientific projects, as well as prospects on creation of international research groups in the Baikal region involving Russian speaking researchers from foreign scientific centers.
